Born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Daniel and his wife moved to her hometown of Lander to be closer to her family. Upon moving to Lander in 2019, he taught in Fort Washakie and now teaches in Fremont School District #25 as a concurrent enrollment government, psychology, and computer science teacher. His family loves living in Lander. Public education is vastly important to him as is ensuring equal access to quality education for all students.
What is best for students is my number one priority. This means standing up for teachers and ensuring that they are adequately compensated, appreciated, and supported. With strong, happy, and enthusiastic educators, student success is possible.
Student safety and achievement are essential. Kids must feel safe at school so they can learn, and their academic success is what gives them a strong future.
We build a real educational community by holding staff and students to reasonable expectations through support, not micromanagement. Lander students deserve the best possible chance for success.
Fremont County School District #1 Board of Trustees should be made up of people who will use clear, strong, and open-minded communication to solve problems together. A board is a team and the focus should always remain on what is best for students and staff.
A growth mindset is important inside the classroom and also from the board of trustees. We must always be willing to learn new things and examine new evidence to support education in our community.
Being open, honest, and transparent is important to me. I'm always available to discuss anything about education, and I'd love to talk to you. You can email me at danielraymclane@gmail.com or we can get together to talk in person. Face-to-face communication makes a big difference in how we understand each other and I look forward to hearing your priorities and concerns for our schools.
